Canada Agriculture Day Open Forum ” Celebrating the 2050 Challenge”
12 February, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
FreeWill agriculture be able to meet the challenge of feeding 9.6B people by 2050?
Join us as we look at the changing face of farming, how technologies are revolutionizing agriculture and how society, being ever more disconnected from food production, will influence the tools, such as genetic engineering, farmers use as they work to ensure global food security.
Our speakers, Robert Saik Agrologist and Dr. David Zaruk, will show how technology is impacting agriculture and how society’s perception of food production is creating real challenges on the farm.
We invite you to join us as we connect the public to the farming community to discuss the challenge of food production.
This event is hosted jointly by the University of Alberta faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences, Red Deer College, and Olds College.
