SUMMARY:8th Canadian Barley Symposium & 22nd North American Barley Researchers Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This joint conference will provide a key forum for exchanging information\, learning about new and emerging frontiers in barley science\, and discussing current issues\, challenges\, and potentials for enhancing barley quality and ensuring profitability and sustainability in the sector. The meeting will offer an opportunity for networking among the stakeholders of the Canadian and North American barley value chain\, including barley producers\, seed growers\, breeders\, researchers\, marketers\, maltsters/brewers\, and users of barley for animal and human nutrition. \nThe conference will feature oral and poster presentations on topics ranging from barley breeding\, agronomy\, pathology\, and production to the uses of barley in functional foods\, feed and beer. The panel sessions will focus on innovative approaches and strategies for comprehensive improvement and promotion of the world’s oldest and most versatile cereal crop for the current and future needs of producers\, processors and consumers. \n
