SUMMARY:Canada Blooms
DESCRIPTION:\nCanada Blooms was founded in 1996 by the Garden Club of Toronto and Landscape Ontario. Today\, it is the largest flower and garden festival in the country\, celebrating the very best in Canadian gardening and floral design! \nCanada Blooms was incorporated in 1997 as Canada Blooms Horticultural Society\, a not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to create a yearly international flower and garden festival which enhances and promotes the awareness of horticulture by featuring the best designs\, products and services of amateur and professional participants. Proceeds from Canada Blooms are used to support community projects that promote horticulture and nurture and enhance our landscapes. \nThe first Canada Blooms was held in 1997\, with attendance exceeding 70\,000 visitors in 5 days – a record for a first-time show! This proved that Canadian gardeners were ready to support a world-class flower and garden festival. In 1998\, Canada Blooms moved to the new Metro Toronto Convention Centre South Building\, and attendance grew. In 2010 Canada Blooms moved to the Enercare Centre (then the Direct Energy Centre) at Exhibition Place and enjoyed a huge crowd of over 90\,000 people – a clear indication of the huge number of Canadians with green thumbs! Today\, the nation’s largest show of its kind sees over 200\,000 visitors pass through its garden gates. \n\n

SUMMARY:Cultivating Resiliency Webinar Series: Increasing Your Joy and Happiness While Living a Farm Life
DESCRIPTION:In this session\, Brenda Mack will focus on increasing joy and happiness in your farm life. Self-compassion\, random acts of kindness and expressing gratitude are practical ideas that will be further explored to bolster positive feelings. Her dad was a third-generation Red River Valley crop farmer and her mom was his partner in marriage for 50 years and helped run their agricultural operations. Brenda has many fond memories and examples of lessons learned from growing up in a farm family\, so\, it was no surprise when Brenda married Trent who is a fourth generation crop farmer from Crookston\, MN. Brenda and Trent proudly support each other in all aspects of their lives. Brenda has a special place in her heart for women in agriculture who have a primary or secondary farming or ranching role. She walks the same path of ag-related ups and downs and wants to spark a local\, state and national conversation about the impacts of stress\, how to build resilience through connection\, and implementing self-care strategies. \n
